Reduction of antibiotics in livestock farming through a natural origin food based on the use of fungi and algae
MICOALGA-FEED at Revista Ganadería
“Fungi and microalgae to prevent diseases in poultry farming”. This is the title of Revista Ganadería the article that has recently been published in about the MICOALGA-FEED Operational Group. In this article, Paloma López, researcher at Hifas Veterinary, reviews where the project currently stands. The feed formulations developed with the selected varieties of fungi and microalgae have been tested in various in vitro tests to assess their antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory capacity. On these trials, Paloma López indicates that “very positive and promising results have been obtained […] at the level of immunomodulation and anti-inflammatory effect.” La siguiente fase del proyecto incluye una batería de ensayos in vivo en las instalaciones de UVESA, que permitirán estudiar el efecto real de los piensos desarrollados en los pollitos.
